What is the Canada Organic Regime (COR)?
The Canada Organic Regime (COR) is the official organic farming standard applied by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) for the sale, labelling and trade of organic products in the Canadian market. It is a legal requirement for all producers and operators wishing to export organic products to Canada to comply with this regulation and become certified.
COR and NOP Equivalency: One Certificate, Two Markets!
Under the Organic Equivalency Arrangement (USCOEA) in force between Canada (CFIA) and the United States (USDA), organic products certified in accordance with COR standards are also accepted as "Organic" in the US market, provided that the specific application conditions (critical variances) between the two countries are met.
